Introduction / Inspiration
The inspiration came while watching a Youtube video. It was a recital of Surah Ad- Duha by Ridjaal Ahmed. The voice was very melodious and calming. The translation of the prayer was soothing. This was beautifully recited. It contained text in Arabic with sub titles in Urdu and English.
This got entrepreneurial and spiritual thoughts running through my mind. As I listened to it over and again, my spirituality became enhanced. I felt that this video could benefit Muslims and non Muslims. It could also empower and publicize Quranic reciters.
There’s however a small moral dilemma. Though you could potentially monetize and impact the many, the fact is also that you shall be monetising spirituality. The question is: ‘is this morally right? And is it acceptable?’
The Idea
- Scout for Quranic reciters - they shall have clear melodious voices.
- Record relevant recitations.
- Upload onto Social media.
- Edit as necessary
- Include subtitles and translations.
- Collaborate as necessary.
- The verses could be short and sharp.
- Could be whole chapters or selected verses.
- Each audio / video could be looped into the desired number of repetitions.
- There could be optional additional videos with short introductions or summaries in the language/s of choice.
- It shall explain the circumstance or relevance of each Quranic prayer or recitation.
- There could be different combinations of each recital.
Observations
- The video was replicated on different Youtube channels
- The number of views across each channel were extremely high
- The content was basically in audio, with sub titles
- It also had inanimate pictures
- The recitation was looped into multiple repetitions, e.g. 20 or 25, etc
Benefits and Opportunities
- This could inspire listeners to learn and memorize the Quran. It could encourage people to embrace Islam. It could benefit Muslims and non Muslims. It could increase Muslim converts. It could ease the pains of those going through life’s troubles.

Incentivisation
Ensure that relevant parties are well incentivized. Don’t be greedy. Incentivize them within reason. Have your mind on the long term. You might get the best out of them if they’re well incentivized and happy. You could research your competitors in creating benchmarks.
Language
For subtitle and description, this could be in Yoruba or any other language of choice, prioritize this to ensure impact and profitability.

- All agreements and contracts shall be documented.
- They shall be in text format.
- This could prevent litigation or conflict, much later.
- You need to document ownership of intellectual rights, profit sharing and any other legalities.
- There should also be witnesses as necessary.
- You also need to effectively manage expectations.

This could be for speakers of Yoruba or other chosen languages. They should be capable of reading the language. As well as for those interested or already in Islam.
Passive Income
For each content, the initial work is done and then passive income could be generated. The only residual work to be done is marketing and may be maintenance. Maintenance could be search engine optimisation updates and may be, thumbnail updates. There shall also be scope for adding to the collection of videos.
Platforms
You shall be fair and generous to the Islamic Clerics. That way, they are incentivized to put in their best. You could either decide to collaborate and agree on a Profit Sharing Formula. Or you could pay the team for the services offered. In calculating the Profit Sharing Formula consider a percentage for philanthropy.
